We raise funds to help patients pay for transplant costs not covered by insurance. These costs can include the search for a donor, travel and lodging when the transplant center is far from home, and prescription co-pays. In 2022, we provided $6.1 million to more than 2,300 patients and their families through the Be The Match Patient Assistance Program. - Finding a matching marrow donor for transplant
Patients need donors who are a close match. While millions have already joined the Be The Match Registry, there are still many patients who are searching for someone like you to be a match. Your financial gift delivers cures to blood cancer patients. Every $100 raised adds potential marrow donors to the Be The Match Registry, helps more patients afford transplant and funds life-saving research. - Developing complications that can keep a transplant out of reach
Survival rates are higher for many patients who receive a transplant early in the course of their disease. Raised funds enable Be The Match to invest in cutting-edge transplant research to help develop better treatments for specific diseases, improving donor-patient matching, timing of transplant and pre-transplant treatments, and finding solutions to post-transplant complications.
